Dr. Falin Schaefer joined Intermountain Healthcare because she loves being part of a capable professional healthcare team. She feels that interacting with colleagues and patients and their families gives her insight that helps her to provide the best care possible.

Dr. Schaefer specializes in cardiology at our Southern Hills Cardiology Clinic. Before joining our team, Dr. Schaefer served as a cardiothoracic surgery ICU nurse for seven years, which led to her passion for cardiology. She enjoys challenging cases that require academic inquiry, and all cases which provide positive outcomes for patients.

Dr. Schaefer earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Mary University in Bismarck, North Dakota. She also holds a BS from University of Texas at El Paso.

Dr. Schaefer grew up in Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan, Canada. In her spare time, she enjoys doing science experiments with her twin sons, as well as baking, crafting, and hiking. She is conversational in French.
