Hailing from the Windy City of Chicago, Ms. Heather Ballantyne brought her appreciation of diversity and learning to her new home of Las Vegas when she relocated in 2007. Since she started her nursing career as a Registered Nurse, she has served in diverse specialties from surgery and women’s health to pediatrics and clinical education.

Ms. Ballantyne received her degree as a Registered Nurse (RN) from Chabot Community College in Hayward, California, and practiced for 20 years before achieving a Master of Science in Nursing, Leadership and Management from Western Governors University in 2017. In early 2019, she obtained her Family Nurse Practitioner/Primary Care Certificate from Purdue University Global. Ms. Ballantyne uses her vast experience to serve the needs of patients affected by heart conditions such as high blood pressure, COPD, and arrhythmias. She believes that diet and exercise are important ways to keep well so she enjoys helping patients learn how to integrate this into their daily lives.

An avid cook, Ms. Ballantyne enjoys cooking for her family and friends. She likes to prepare heart-healthy menus so that those close can realize that healthy eating can be delicious. Ms. Ballantyne’s pursuit of learning continues and she serves as a BLS Instructor and has been recognized for her bedside manner by patients and colleagues.
