Suresh Tawney, MD

Dr. Suresh Tawney joined Intermountain Health to initiate a program in pulmonary care. He enjoys seeing patients improve their breathing as they respond to a treatment plan.

Before joining Intermountain Health, Dr. Tawney served as a pulmonologist and internist at several clinics and hospitals in the Las Vegas area. His experience includes starting a COPD clinic at Southwest Medical in Las Vegas, serving as Chief of SMA Hospitalist Program at Mountains Edge Hospital, and serving as an instructor and professor at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He has published several articles in professional journals on topics in pulmonary medicine.

Dr. Tawney earned his MD and Pre-Med degrees from University of Delhi in New Delhi, India. He did his internship in Surgery at the Hospital for Joint Disease and Medical Center in New York City and an internship in Internal Medicine at Mt. Sinai Services at City Hospital Center at Elmhurst, New York. He did his residency in Internal Medicine at Mt. Sinai Services at City Hospital Center at Elmhurst, NY, where he was also a fellow in Pulmonary Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has a subspecialty certification in Pulmonary Disease. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians.
