Brenda Swaim, MSN, FNP-C

Brenda Swaim, MSN, FNP-C, was born in Southern California and moved to the Las Vegas area when she was a child. Brenda graduated from Chamberlain University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner. As a provider, Brenda understands the importance of wellness and prevention. She works to empower her patients with chronic illnesses to live their best lives. Her journey to becoming a provider began before nursing school when she worked as an EMT in Las Vegas. During this time, her mom began to have many chronic and musculoskeletal conditions. Brenda learned many details about her conditions and various treatment options. Brenda recognized that her mother’s providers helped her to live the best quality of life possible despite multiple health problems, and this excellent care prevented many unnecessary hospitalizations.

While working as a registered nurse in hospitals and rehabilitation facilities, Brenda saw many patients admitted for reasons that could have been treated/managed in an outpatient setting and, with proper follow-up care, prevented hospitalization. As a hospice nurse, she learned that trusting the patient-provider bond improves patient outcomes. She strongly believes it is important to listen to patients’ concerns and prioritize them along with clinical findings.

When not helping her patients, Brenda enjoys spending time with her family and their pets.
