Dr. Kwok Wong’s interest in medicine and helping people began in middle school after he volunteered at the Red Cross. It inspired him to get more involved in the medical field, volunteering at a hospital while in high school and working as an EMT in college as well. This exposure and experience in health care made him want to become a physician and dedicate his life to caring for others.
At Intermountain Healthcare, he is a myGeneration provider specializing in senior care. Dr. Wong said what he most enjoys about his job is getting to know patients and share in their experiences. While he sees many different patients of all different backgrounds and ages, he especially enjoys aiding patients and families affected by dementia, and believes in caring for the caregiver as well as the patient.
When he is not spending time with patients, Dr. Wong enjoys sports, watching anime, going to the gym and spending time with his family. If he were not a physician, Dr. Wong would want to be a police officer, and something patients may be surprised to learn is that Dr. Wong used to scuba dive in his free time.
Dr. Wong attended the University of California Irvine for his Bachelor of Applied Ecology and received his medical degree from American University of Integrative Sciences, School of Medicine(formerly known as the University of Sint Eustasius) in Netherlands Antilles. He completed his residency at Beaumont Hospital, Wayne (formerly known as Oakwood Annapolis Hospital) and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Wong is also board certified in Geriatric Medicine having completed his Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at Case Western Medical Center/University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Wong is fluent in English and Cantonese and can speak some Mandarin and can care for patients who speak any of these languages.
