Dr. Renee Del Carmen joined Intermountain Health’s Siena Rose myGeneration Senior Clinic because she appreciates the company’s emphasis on quality of care, prevention, and wellness. She feels a team-based approach is essential to deliver the highest quality care, and she cherishes the connections she makes with both patients and staff.
Before coming to Intermountain Health, Dr. Del Carmen worked as a physician assistant in Hawaii and as an observer to a physician in Bellflower, California. She was also a junior intern at Harvard Medical School focusing on emergency care.
Dr. Del Carmen has supported numerous charitable causes, including providing affordable medical services to underserved families and homeless and providing free medical and surgical care to victims of Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines.
Dr. Del Carmen earned her MD from University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines, and did her residency in family and community medicine at University of Texas in San Antonio. She also holds a BS in biology with minors in psychology and chemistry from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona.
In her spare time, Dr. Del Carmen practices calligraphy, baking, and cooking – in fact, she named her dogs Fries and Chili. She is also an ardent collector of “I Love Lucy” memorabilia.
