Samet Albayrak, MD

Dr. Samet Albayrak joined Intermountain Health because he admires our practice model. He enjoys seeing patients recover from surgeries with good outcomes.

Dr.Albayrak’s mother practiced forensic medicine, his father was an OBGYN, and his brother is a plastic surgeon. This influenced him to pursue a career in medicine. He has trained many residents and enjoys hearing from them after they graduate.

Dr. Albayrak earned his MD from Cerrahpasa Medical Facility in Istanbul, Turkey. He did his residency with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Detroit Medical Center and Wayne State University. He participated in clinical research at Wayne State University and at University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin and has published numerous articles in professional journals and made presentations on topics ranging from ovarian cancer diagnosis to fetal congenital heart defects.

Dr. Albayrak has served as a clinical assistant professor at Wayne State and as a residency co-director in the OBGYN department at Detroit Medical Center and has won several awards for excellence in teaching. Dr. Albayrak is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and completed his Focused Practice Designation in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS).
