Dr. Amorsolo Suguitan, Jr., joined Intermountain Health because he shares the company’s vision of patient-centered, comprehensive, evidence-based primary care with an emphasis on preventive medicine. Dr. Sulguitan works alongside the rest of the Intermountain Health team to deliver comprehensive senior care.
As a Resident Physician at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., Dr. Suguitan completed rotations in cardiology, critical care, coronary care, endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, hematology/oncology, nephrology, pulmonology, and rheumatology.
Dr. Suguitan enjoys helping patients improve the effectiveness of their immune systems. He has been involved in numerous research projects and was part of the team that developed the live attenuated pandemic influenza H1N1 vaccine. He also conducted research for the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases National Institutes of Health at Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Suguitan grew up in the Philippines, where he earned a BS in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at University of Philippines in Quezon City. He earned his MD from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and did his residency in internal medicine at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He also holds an MS and a PhD in Biology from Georgetown University. He has published numerous articles in medical journals.
